In recent days, thanks to the efforts of Chinese enterprises, governments, and people, tens of thousands of medical supplies such as masks, goggles, and protective clothing have arrived in Israel. Limor Ganon, a Consul at the Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai, emphasized in an interview that “China’s medical supplies are of great quality and fully up to Israeli standard. Before the outbreak of the pandemic, Chinese masks and protective clothing had been exported to Israel. Nowadays, China has the world’s leading technology.” She added, “When coronavirus broke out in China, our team in Israel made all the efforts to support our Chinese friends. Unexpectedly, the situation changed so fast, and our Chinese friends immediately helped my country in turn. In the past few weeks, we have received love and support from people all over China, from large organizations and governments to companies and individuals.”
Ms. Ganon also thanked Chinese people for their timely medical supplies during Israel’s most difficult period. “There is a special bond between China and Israel. We will continue to work together to improve friendship between the two peoples. In the future, we will also continue to learn from China and create a better future for the two countries in the aspects of medical care, education, technology, and transportation.”
Anti-COVID-19 supplies donated by China to Israel also include 100,000 masks and 1,000 protective garments from China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park (CICP). Thanks to the park’s active coordination with relevant parties, most of the supplies have been shipped to Israel and signed for so far, and there are still a small number of supplies that are awaiting delivery or in transit according to feedback from Israel and logistics information. CICP will continue to follow up the delivery of materials, cooperate with departments concerned to support Israel’s COVID-19 prevention and control, and bring China-Israel friendship and bilateral cooperation to a new level.
After years of exploration and endeavors, CICP has gathered 90 Israel-owned enterprises and China-Israel cooperative enterprises, and has helped develop 24 scientific and technological cooperation projects. Although personnel exchanges between China and Israel are suspended for prevention and control of COVID-19, scientific and technological innovation cooperation is advancing via “cloud exchanges”. Next, CICP will strengthen communication with domestic companies, survey their needs for Israeli technologies, and send these needs to Israel via Internet in the future, so as to lay a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges.
