On November 27th, the "2020 4th China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest Start-ups Grand Fina" set off in Changzhou. After the four-and-half-hour contest, Biomx, was declared to win the final, while Kardome and Hargol FoodTech ranked as the second and the third place respectively.

With the aim of looking for partners in China and stepping into Chinese market, a total number of 44 Israeli start-ups engaging in life science, intelligent technology and agricultural & environmental protection participated in the contest. After two rounds of preliminary contest, 9 out of the 44 start-ups were selected out to perform themselves in the grand final. Due to the restriction of the Covid-19 virus, the grand final was given online. Through a huge screen erected in the front of the hall, one by one, the representatives of the 9 start-ups described the advantages their programs harbored and answered the questions put forward by the 7 Chinese judges including investors and science technology experts.

The ultimate winner, Biomx, is a clinical-stage company developing natural and engineered phage therapies that target specific pathogenic bacteria in multiple indications, such as acne, inflammatory Bowel Disease, liver diseases and cancer. The runner-up, Kardome, takes advantage of AI-driven source separation and noise reduction technology so that the users would be facilitated with seamless voice interface interactions, even in the most crowded and noisy environments. The second runner-up, Hargol FoodTech is the world's very first commercial grasshopper farmer, make grasshoppers sustainable high quality protein product to humans, efficiently and in humane way. The representatives from the above three all expressed their gratitude for being recognized and looked forward to the coming cooperation with Chinese partners.

Mr.Ruan Xiangping,director general-level official of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Ms.Wu Cheng, deputy director of the China Science Technology Communication Center and Mr.Li Lin, deputy mayor of Changzhou Municipal People's Government attended the opening ceremony launched before the grand final and delivered speeches; Mr.Aharon-Aharon, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, Mr.Edward-Shapira, Counsel General of the Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai,Mr.Niv-Hanan,commercial counselor of the Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai attended the ceremony online.

The grand final is co-hosted by China Science Technology Communication Center, Israel Innovation Authority, Changzhou Municipal People's Government and Sino-Israeli Innovation Association, undertook by Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology as well as China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, co-organized by Changzhou Municipal Productivity Development Center and Jiangsu China-Israel  Industrial Technology Research Institute.
